Adams: We need KanuPompey assistant Tony Adams thinks the club must do everything in their power to hold onto Nigerian hit-man Nwankwo Kanu.
The Arsenal legend told The News: "I think Kanu's a great football player and Portsmouth need great football players,"
"You saw last season how you need great footballers to stay in this division and if you want to push the club forward he's the type of player you need at your football club.
"I think Harry is doing everything he can to push Portsmouth football club forward and that's only right. To do that, Kanu has to stay.
"He's a fantastic footballer. We got him late in the transfer window when there weren't many takers - but there'll be a few now."
He added: "Kanu's always been a massive maker of goals, which is his strength," Adams continued.
"If he chips in with 10 goals then you are absolutely delighted, but he's done better than that and been our main man.
"In that respect, he's been a complete surprise, I must admit.
"I'm not surprised at the talent he's got, though. I've played with him. He's a Dennis Bergkamp or a Teddy Sheringham, and gets his share of goals as well.
"I'd love him to be in my football team. He's a great player and I think it's important he stays at this football club."
