Tear gas used in violent scenesRiot police fired tear gas to disperse hundreds of soccer fans on Monday following clashes before a first-division soccer game between AEK Athens and cross-town Atromitos.
About 300 AEK fans hurled rocks, bottles and a gasoline bomb at police outside Atromitos Stadium in an effort to force their way in. They dispersed after police fired tear gas.
No arrests or injuries were reported.
